kalman's blogApril 18th, 2010Bree-Anne and Dane staffed Earth's General Store's booth at the Earth Day Festival at Fort Edmonton Park. I understand it went well and many people showed up at the festival. April 7th, 2010March 28th, 2010On Friday we received and displayed our first order of fresh bread. We received a small tentative order from Prairie Mill Bread Company and it started to disappear as soon as Owen delivered it. In fact the Amores/Nobert family, who had visited the store earlier in the day, returned to pick up some bread. March 26th, 2010Always adding new products to the store but some much more can be added. It takes so much time to find suppliers for local organic products. Next week we will have Sunny Boy cereal and some of their other products. These are produced in Camrose, Alberta - 74 kilometres. March 21st, 2010The coolers and freezers are ordered and should be here next week. Then I will have to make sure the power works for where I want to install them. March 12th, 2010Just to give people a little notice before this next change happens (I was a little too busy to do this right from the start when we opened at our new location) we will be charging for bags used in the store for customer purchases – this includes plastic bags used for bulk products (2 – 5 cents), paper bags used for cleaning and bulk products (5 cents), March 5th, 2010We have added several bulk food items - flours, grains, beans, popcorn, and even chocolate chips. We have expanded our gluten free/wheat free product line. February 24th, 2010Well the sales are not as much as I was hoping for - in fact they are only a little bit better than what we were doing a our former location. So I need to lay a little bit out there. February 5th, 2010 - New Location OpeningWell it has been a long time coming but tomorrow at 10 am Earth's General Store (on Saturday, February 6th, 2010) is going to open our doors at our new location (9605 - 82nd Avenue). Yahooooooo! February 2nd, 2010Soon we will be able to open our latest version of Earth's General Store! Some progress was made today that is visible. Items got onto the shelves, shelves got moved, floors got cleaned, sidewalks got shovelled, lots of empty boxes were taken to the recycling centre, and items diverted to my bulging garage. |
